THE PANIC CHANNEL Tracking Two More Songs For Upcoming Debut
November 5, 2005THE PANIC CHANNEL, the new band featuring three quarters of the most recent lineup of JANE'S ADDICTION (guitarist Dave Navarro, drummer Stephen Perkins, and bassist Chris Chaney) and former SKYCYCLE vocalist Steve Isaacs, are continuing work on their debut album with producer Josh Abraham (KORN, COURTNEY LOVE, LIMP BIZKIT, VELVET REVOLVER) for a tentative early 2006 release through an as-yet-undisclosed label. Navarro has checked in with the following report on the progress of the album's recording sessions:
"We have been working long hours in the studio and it looks like we are pretty much finished with most of the songs. Today [Friday, Nov. 4] we are tracking two more from scratch in a different studio. I am personally looking forward to these as they are really all about the sonic journey. Apart from these two I can't think of much more that needs to be done. I am actually really happy about the fact that I had to take the summer off for the show, as I have been able to rethink some things and come back with a new perspective. As for a release date, I haven't really thought too much about that. I know we are shooting for the early part of the year 2006 but we haven't even handed in the latest version yet."
With regards to the band's musical direction, Navarro recently told MTV.com, "I would say there's elements of both [JANE'S ADDICTION and Navarro's 2001 solo LP, 'Trust No One'] to the music, but some of the stuff's a little more song-oriented than anything we've done before, and some of it's real experimental. So, as with everything that we've done, it's very diverse."
